Government of Canada funds new transit security projects in Alberta
CALGARY The Honourable Jim Prentice, Minister of Industry, on behalf of the Honourable Lawrence Cannon, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, today announced that the City of Calgary, Alberta, will receive up to $909,000 and Sherwood Park, Alberta will receive up to $37,500 in funding for the development of awareness programs; the upgrade of access control measures and security technology; and the development of risk assessments. The funding is being provided through the fourth round of Transit-Secure, the Government of Canada s passenger rail and urban transit security contribution program.
